Writing_iStock_000022026994XSmallDr. Hernandez draws on her experience as an author and a faculty who has taught writing for more than fifteen years at various academic levels. She conducts writing workshops and or tutorials for school aged children and adults on inspirational writing, short stories, writing non-fiction books, dissertation/thesis writing, and writing for academic publication. She also does freelance writing and can be contracted for writing projects. Her work has appeared in the The Journal of Research Practice, The Journal of Black Masculinity
Callaloo: A Journal of African Diaspora Arts and Letters, Adventist Review, PRISM. She is co-author of: Ready to Teach: A Practical Guide for a Successful First Year (CRHDE, 2004)
Collaborative Autoethnography (Left Coast Press, 2013) and the author of Black Masculinities and Spirituality (Information Age, 2014). She was co-editor of a special issue of the Journal of Research Practice (2010) on autoethnography, and is a reviewer for several peer-review journals.
